I'm pleased to announce my watercolor painting "Girl with a Bun", was awarded the H. K. Holbein, Inc. Merchandise Award in the 2014 SWS Membership Exhibition. The Exhibition is being shown at the Eiseman Center in Richardson, Texas. Juror Fealing Lin had a difficult time as there were so many excellent peices to judge. Congratulations to all the membership that got in the show.

Transparent Flowers 2

My second attempt of the "transparent flowers".  A look like viewing through plastic wrap with "boxy" shape and design patterns.  On an Arches half sheet cold press w/c paper. 

Hotel at Laguna

Our beach hotel at sunset from a few years ago.  I tried to make the palm trees a more painterly stroke and was only partly successful.

K at DFW

This was done in Michael Holter's workshop back in Dec.  I'm not fond of the reds under the lip.  This is on an Arches watercolor board 16 x 20.  It was a smooth surface which the paint reacts differently than if the paper has any tooth.  Since I did this in a workshop, it cannot be entered in any shows.  I believe another attempt would be better anyway.

A night walk in Savannah.

The moss became very block like abstraction in this night scene in Savannah, GA. A 12 x 16 image. 

Jazz Monsters

A blurred vision of dancers to the music of the Jazz Monsters.  I left a lot of pencil marks and it might look unfinished but I thought it was done enough.  The image is on a 15 x 22 arches paper.

A lot of yellow on this 20 x16 painting.  This was an outdoor market in Cambridge.

Centered Katie

Katie with an abstracted pattern and another girl.  She looks to the viewers left wondering what is next. On an Arches half sheet.  This to me is a strong piece but it has been rejected by two national shows, the AWS (today) and the NWS.  Once I found out it was rejected, I entered it a third, The Texas National.
